In this modern age, we barely do not compete for a few things, the air we breathe as one of those few things (with ‘death’ coming close in second place), can still be polluted to high extent Sometimes we pray it ceases to exist. Such is the power of BAD ODOUR; Body, Mouth or Genitals.
While joking away at work sometimes ago, a colleague threw the question at no one in particular; “Which is better, Body odour or Mouth Odour?” . The office room went silent and no one could even think of finding a preference between the two most dreaded embarassing shortfalls of the human’s secreting glands.
Quickly let’s see what really BODY ODOUR is.- – “A strong and unpleasant body odour (odor) can affect your social, work and family life. People will not always tell you if you smell funny, though you can smell under your own arms to confirm. Ask a close friend or small child.” Predominantly, body odour comes from “secretions of glands in the skin and bacterial activity. Sweat and sebaceous glands have the greatest impact, particularly those in the armpits and the anus- genital region. Body odour also comes from the feet, hair on the head and in the pubic area, skin in general, ears (earwax) and mouth.”
While MOUTH ODOUR on the Other hand has been described as the ” disturbing smell that oozes out of one’s mouth which is completely unpalatable to the nostrils at any point of the day” . Whaoooow, that’s one hell of a way to put it. Simply put, HALITOSIS as its often referred to is majorly caused by bacteria imbalance in the secretive glands present in the mouth. Mouth odour could be permanent or Temporary.
Very Briefly, let’s highlight the possible rememdies for both conditions.
For Someone with Body Odour:
1. Take bath or shower at least once daily. Wash with soap under your arms until the bacterial overgrowth is under control. When things are back to normal do NOT use soap, as it removes natural oils and the good bacterial protection that you normally want on your skin. Dry yourself thoroughly after washing.
- Wear clean clothes every day. If you put on a smelly shirt from
the previous day, you are replacing the smelly bacteria under your arms.
Avoid sugar, sweet foods, and processed foods, which bacteria
and fungi throughout your body love to feed on.
Choose natural fabrics such as cotton or wool.

To say the least, both conditions are embarrasing. The scorn look you get from your friends when you talk or move too close to them can be very heartbreaking. However, it is not the end of the world as remedies abound for both disorders.
So Now to my Question for today, Between Body Odour and Mouth Odour, Which would you pick or seems preferable ( or at least one that still have a higher tolerance level) ? 😛 😛
Guys, time to make a tough decision. The floor is declared Open.
